  1. Just because another film or book has a similar premise to Battle Royale, it doesn't make it a direct rip-off. Whilst there are bad ones that are notoriously similar, others are unrelated. Please do more research before making informed statements.

  2. If you listen to the show (and it doesn't sound like you did) you'll hear that no one thinks that this was a case of plagiarism. I would bet my bottom dollar that you clicked on a link on IMDB and came over here with an axe to grind.

  3. I'm not a crazy fan of the film but I loved this chat with Fukasaku's long-time English subtitle translator, Linda Hoaglund. Both her perspective on his body of work and the philosophy behind her translation process makes for a fascinating interview.
