Written and directed by (rightfully) disgraced comedian Louis C.K., the film stars Lance Crouther as the titular Mr. Tang, a performer, poet, and potter who learns a lesson about himself and the evil corporate empire run by Dick Lecter (Robert Vaughn).

  2. There was a time when my taste was impeccable enough, and my time was valuable enough to me that I listened to the Scary Movie 3 commentary. I remember David Zucker said he included the Pootie Tang references as a kind of in-joke because he was in a poker group with "the director"; as far as I recall he didn't mention Louis C.K. by name, nor would I have known who that was at the time.

  3. For some reason this made me think of Booty Call & how much Siskel&Ebert Loved Booty Call?Almost as much as Hoop Dreams?Anywho,gonna be back on the ProjectionBooth for the Summer,yo:)....

    1. Ebert definitely loved "urban" films. He gave a lot of fair-to-middling films a pass if they celebrated African American culture.
