We continue a month of requests with one from listener Jordan Nash, 1985's Walking the Edge. Written by Curt Allen and directed by Norman Meisel, the film stars Nancy Kwan, as Christine Holloway, a woman whose son and husband are slaughtered by Joe Spinell as Brusstar and his gang of goons. She’s rescued by a cuckolded taxi driver who’s in dutch to the mob, Jason Walk, played by Robert Forster.

Based on the 1974 novel by Richard Condon, William Richert's Winter Kills (1979) tells the tale of Nick Kegan (Jeff Bridges), half brother of President Tim Kegan who was assassinated in Philadelphia in February 1960. When he receives a deathbed confession from the man who allegedly shot President Kegan, Nick goes down the rabbit-hole, trying sort out the truth from the lies and obfuscations of everyone around him, including his father, Pa Kegan (John Huston).

Written and directed by William Peter Blatty, The Ninth Configuration (1980) has been known at points and was based on his novel Twinkle Twinkle Killer Kane. The film stars Stacy Keach as Col. Hudson Kane, a new psychiatrist at an unusual retreat for men who have cracked up during the Vietnam War. Also at this fog shrouded castle is Captain Billy Cutshaw (Scott Wilson), an astronaut who freaked out before his mission to the moon. The two men are at odds about the world, especially around the question of faith.
