Lina Wertmüller's 1975 film Seven Beauties stars Giancarlo Gianini as Pasqualino Settebellezze of Pasqualino of the Seven Beauties. He’s a man with several sisters that he’s trying to keep on the straight and narrow. When one of his sisters gets involved with a pimp, Pasqualino murders him and is put on a path of destruction where he goes to an asylum and eventually a concentration camp.

Samm Deighan and Kat Ellinger join Mike to discuss the film, Lina Wertmüller's oeuvre, and Giancarlo Gianini crying.

Based on the novel by Peter Benchley, Jaws is the story of Sheriff Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) -- a former New York City cop who’s moved to the idyllic island community of Amity. All is going well in his white picket world until a Great White Shark picks the waters around Amity as a feeding ground.

Jamie Benning (Filmumentaries) and Chris Sasser (Shark City) join Mike to discuss the film that defined what a "blockbuster summer hit" was. Screenwriter Carl Gottlieb (The Jaws Log) and John LeMay (Jaws Unmade) discuss the making of Jaws as well as the many sequels, rip-offs, and inspired films in Jaws's wake.

Episode 469: Lips of Blood (1973)

French Month concludes with a look at Jean Rollin's Lips of Blood (1975). The film stars Jean-Loup Philippe as Frederic, a man who, one night at a party, sees a photograph of a gothic castle that triggers a memory. He suddenly recalls a time when he was young when a young woman gave him shelter for the night. After that he's plagued by visions of her and feels the need to reconnect. Meanwhile, four mysterious women help guide him along the way to this reunion, despite the best efforts of his overbearing mother. Who is the mysterious woman from his past? Why does his mother not want them to meet?

Maitland McDonagh (Broken Mirrors / Broken Minds: The Dark Dreams of Dario Argento) and Samm Deighan (Lost Girls: The Phantasmagorical Cinema of Jean Rollin) join Mike to talk about Rollin, cinemafantastique, and Suck Me, Vampire.

Special Report: Tommy (1975)

On this special episode of The Projection Booth we’re looking at Ken Russell's Tommy. Released in 1975 this is an interpretation of The Who's Rock Opera of the same name which stars Roger Daltry as the titular Tommy. After witnessing a scene of his mother and her lover killing his father, Tommy is rendered psychosomatically blind, deaf, and mute. He becomes a wiz at pinball, starts a religion, and is eventually brought low as a false prophet.

Kit Power, author of the Midnight Movie Monograph on Tommy and legendary singer Arthur Brown speak about the making of the film.

Heather Drain and Skizz Cyzyk join Mike to put on their green coats and discuss the good and bad of Tommy.
