Based on a novel by hardboiled scribe Jim Thompson, James Foley's After Dark My Sweet is a neo-noir from 1990 starring Jason Patric, Bruce Dern, and Rachel Ward. The film tells the tale of Kevin "Kid" Collins, a punchdrunk palooka who falls in with a kidnapping scheme.

We're joined by Professor Robert Polito, author of the definitive Jim Thompson biography, Savage Art.

Mike White,Rob St Mary-I'm back on TPB-gotta shelf of Jim Thompson novels to delve into!I remember seeing this around the time of One False Move-the Bartender in the opening scene was in One False Move.Stacy Keach once told me The Killer Inside Me(french version Coup de Torchon)was his fave role-more than Fat City or The Ninth Configuartion!How cool was Stanley Kubrick to work with Jim Thompson,Twice??:)Go East Be Well:)Please have Alicia Malone&Eric Cohen back on sometime:)
