Special Guest: Benjamin Solovey
The Master will be pleased if you listen to this special episode about Manos: The Hands of Fate, a classic film of lust, love, and betrayal. Hear how the film has been rescued by cinephile Ben Solovey and how the film community has come to his aid.
Co-Host Rob St. Mary calls Manos the "ultimate film school movie" as it teaches filmmakers just now not to make a film.

ReplyDeleteThe film or the podcast? Either way, thanks!
DeleteI can't believe I'm looking forward to a restored version of a terrible movie but I am. I'm also looking forward to the sequel being worked on by a different filmmaker. This was another great interview.
ReplyDeleteThanks for listening! Glad you liked the show.
DeleteI'm a huge MST3K fan and believe that MANOS is the "ultimate training film" but, beyond that, it can also be fun on it's own merits.
Please tell others about the show. We have some great episodes coming up!
CHEERS!

This was a terrific episode.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy "Manos: The Hands of Fate" more than as an ultimate training film because despite its many flaws it still tried its hardest to be an original and daring film. I've been looking forward to this restoration project and have been following its progress ever since I first heard about it.
I haven't yet managed to watch MANOS sans MST3K, but I have watched THE BEAST OF YUCCA FLATS and MONSTER A-GO GO without Joel & the bots. (The suffering. The sweet, sweet suffering.)
ReplyDeleteThe Torgo Theme is my ringtone.
