Privacy
What this site collects, why, and the choices you have. Last updated October 11, 2026.
Comments and messages
When you leave a comment you give a name, an email address and your words. The name and comment are shown on the episode page after approval. Your email address is never shown. It is kept so Mike can reply if a response is needed. Messages sent through the Contact page are stored privately and emailed to Mike. Only Mike can see comment emails and messages. We keep them until you ask us to remove them: write to mike@projection-booth.com.
Keeping out robots
Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is filling them in. It may use your browser and network details for that check. We also use hidden traps and rate limits that store a short, one-way scrambled code of your connection for an hour.
Analytics and the Facebook pixel (only if you accept)
If you press “Accept” on the cookie notice, we turn on two things:
- Google Analytics 4, to count page views, searches, episode plays and clicks to listening, support and shopping links. Google’s advertising features and personalized ads are turned off.
- The Facebook (Meta) pixel, which tells Facebook which pages you visit so the show can measure its posts and reach people on Facebook and Instagram. Facebook may connect that to your Facebook or Instagram account under its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
If you decline, neither one is loaded and nothing is sent. Your choice is remembered in this browser only, and you can change it any time: .
Remembered in your browser
The audio player remembers where you stopped in each episode. That stays in your browser (local storage) and is never sent to us. Your cookie choice is kept the same way.
Newsletter
This site has no mailing list. The show’s newsletter comes through Patreon (opens in a new tab). If you sign up there, Patreon handles your email address under its own policy.
Where the site is hosted
The site is hosted by DreamHost. Like most web servers, it keeps standard logs of each request (your IP address, the page asked for, the time and your browser type) to keep the site running and secure.
Other websites
Episodes stream from Spreaker. Videos load from YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode) or Vimeo (with “do not track” on) only on pages that include them. Links to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Patreon, TeePublic, Amazon and other shops leave this site, and those companies have their own policies. Some shop links are affiliate links, which means the show may earn a small commission on a purchase at no extra cost to you.
Your rights (EU, UK and California)
If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will answer within 30 days. We do not sell your personal information. If you accept the Facebook pixel, California law may treat that as “sharing” information for advertising. You can stop that at any time with the cookie choices link above. To make a request, write to mike@projection-booth.com.
Children
This site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us their details, write to us and we will remove them.
Changes and questions
We may update this page, and the date at the top shows when it last changed. Questions? Write to mike@projection-booth.com.
