The best podcast that I have listened to on this fascinating subject. Bravo! The Lockheed SR-71 featured at the opening scene is the fastest aeroplane ever built. In 1969, onboard camera footage would be restricted so Frank Mazzola would have to have had a friend at Skunk Works or NASA to provide it.
ReplyDeleteIt was International Times magazine that described Performance as an 'evil, heavy film'.
A couple of friends of mine knew John Bindon, or 'Biffo' as he was known. They both liked him, his heavy reputation notwithstanding.
Thanks again, Noel, (still in Liverpool).
Actually, I'm just reviewing and it looks like a fly-by from the Blackbird which is then interspersed with an onboard camera footage of a missile ofmsome sort, judging by the vapour trail trajectory.. I'll see if I can get Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter on the blower...
