There have been many experiences when the DVD extras were far more stimulating than the featured film. This is particularly true regarding film commentaries. Jeffrey Schwarz discussed making supplemental materials in the "I Am Divine" episode, but Michael Felsher went into more details about the nature of the field. He is very lucky to be able to combine his passions with his work.

Over the last couple of years, largely for financial reasons, I have shifted my movie watching to streaming. The fact that commentaries and interviews are not made available through streaming services can be aggravating, for I sometimes have questions about a film that would probably be answered through these materials. Physical formats, moreover, can make the movie experience far more personal affair. Controlling a film through a remote control is, for me at least, far more interactive than moving an arrow on a computer screen.

I have noticed that there are more contemporary films being featured on the Projection Booth than before. Are you finding more films and projects that interest you? Is this a conscious effort to take the show in a different direction?

Once again, thank you for the show. It is hard to believe that I have been listening to it for close to two years. Time goes by way too quickly.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
