Finally, if you can't believe a random person on Reddit then who else are you going to believe?

For what it's worth, my recent favorites in no particular order have been: TPB, The After Movie Diner/Dr. Action and the Kickass Kid (and anywhere else Jon Cross graces his presence,) Schlock Treatment, Bloodbaths and Boomsticks, Drunk on VHS, Badasses, Boobs, and Body Counts, and B-Movie Breakdown.
ReplyDeleteI used to be a regular listener of both Film Sack and Bad Movie Fiends, but something about each turned me off over time. I remember liking BMF more, so perhaps I'll revisit them first. Your Favorite Podcast kind of lost me when they decided to tweak their format a bit, but Jim and Josh are damn hilarious so I definitely owe it to them and myself to catch up.
Not to sound like "that guy," for as popular as a lot of those listed podcasts apparently are, I've honestly only heard of 2 or 3 of them I didn't already mention. Yay... ?
No Outside the Cinema on any of those lists. Shame on every single person above.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Any show that is foolhardy enough to have us on it multiple times is doing something right. :)
DeleteBesides tuning in each week to the Projection Booth, I am a loyal every-episode listener of both the Rialto Report and the B-Movie Cast, but these are both specialty-interest shows with fairly narrow focus. If old B movies or 1970s porn don't interest you, you probably don't listen to these programs. It seems like, by and large, these "best movie podcasts" lists are dominated by more general-interest, across-the-board type shows with a wider appeal. TPB is probably the only show in that category I really listen to. I used to listen to both Filmspotting and Battleship Pretension, but I kind of lost interest in those and gravitated toward more niche podcasts.
