Despite being admittedly popular in the '80s, he's been the touchstone of unfunny comedy ever since. He's been making a living playing piano in night clubs for the past 30 years. I'm sure he still has lots of fun and some kind of enduring fame based on ironic nostalgia, but a "national treasure" he most definitely ain't.Luotto Premingerhttp://www.i400calci.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6265014241875110812.post-50982799891827374162012-06-28T10:13:31.485-04:002012-06-28T10:13:31.485-04:00I think you have to be hard-hearted (or young whip...I think you have to be hard-hearted (or young whipper-snappers) not to include at least one of Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles and Silent Movie.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6265014241875110812.post-79075813029001170382012-02-03T08:39:12.331-05:002012-02-03T08:39:12.331-05:00You guys picked "Airplane!" as you numbe...You guys picked "Airplane!" as you number one. Good choice but you totally overlooked several parodies that I think should have been considered:

1.) The Rutles - so dead on that it sounds like the Beatles and takes the air out of their image. Wonderful!

2.) Life of Brian - the best parody of a Biblical epic ever!

The guess the one connection is that both were created by Monty Python members.Rob St. Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03993994965210555040noreply@blogger.com
